Bubble Chamber

Scintillating bubble chamber developed in Instrument Shop for Dahl lab – device to be used for dark matter searches employing superheated liquid xenon to be placed in silica vessel (at top of image; purchased separately from TGP). Particle interactions in the xenon will produce scintillation light and nucleate bubbles of xenon gas. (Image courtesy of Eric Dahl, Physics and Astronomy.)

Heating and cooling block developed in Instrument Shop for Notestein lab - device is used for precise control of reactor temperature during tests of new catalysts in large-scale reactions that are important to the chemicals industry.
