Professional Shop Staff
Members of the technical staff have worked in the precision metalworking field all of their careers. All members of the staff are expert in all aspects of manual toolroom machines, sheet metal fabrication, and hand tools. In addition, all staff members can set-up and operate the computerized numerical control (CNC) machines.
Thang Bui (Instrument Maker)
Thang Bui has worked in the Professional Shop since 1994, and has been a Northwestern employee since 1990. Prior to working on the Evanston campus, Thang worked on the Chicago campus as an Instrument Maker in the Department of Physiology.
Jeffrey Jacobs (Instrument Maker)
Jeffrey Jacobs joined the Professional Shop in 2005. Previously, he worked in the automotive industry as a tool and die maker and in automotive prototyping.
Michael Wasiukiewicz (Instrument Maker)
Michael Wasiukiewicz has over three decades of experience as a tool and die maker. He joined the professional shop in 2009. Mike served in a United States Department of Labor sponsored apprenticeship for Tool and Die Making. Before coming to Northwestern, he worked in the aerospace and automotive industries.
